A Virginia Statement of Resignation of Registered Agent of a Business Trust is a legal document used by a business trust in the state of Virginia to notify the Commonwealth of Virginia that the Registered Agent of the trust is resigning from their position. The document must include the name of the business trust, the name of the current Registered Agent, the address of the Registered Agent, the date of the resignation, and the signature of the Registered Agent. There are two types of Virginia Statement of Resignation of Registered Agent of a Business Trust: (1) Voluntary Resignation and (2) Mandatory Resignation. A Voluntary Resignation is when the Registered Agent of the Business Trust voluntarily resigns from their position. A Mandatory Resignation is when the Registered Agent is removed from their position by the Business Trust or the Commonwealth of Virginia. Both types of resignation must be filed with the State Corporation Commission in order for the resignation to be effective.
