Utah Conviction is a legal process in which an individual is found guilty of a crime in the state of Utah. This process is often referred to as adjudication or sentencing. The most common types of Utah convictions are Misdemeanor Convictions and Felony Convictions. Misdemeanor convictions are typically for less serious crimes and may include fines and/or probation or jail time. Felony convictions are more serious and involve harsher punishments including prison time. During the conviction process, the court will review evidence and testimony to determine guilt or innocence. Upon a guilty verdict, the court may impose fines, probation, jail or prison time, and other punishments. The court may also require the convicted individual to complete rehabilitation, community service, or other programs.
