4.12 Principal Sued but Not Agent-Agency or Authority Denied is a type of legal outcome in which a principal (an individual, company, or other entity) is sued but the agent, agency, or authority responsible for the alleged wrongdoing is not pursued legally. This outcome may occur in cases where the party responsible for the action is not identified or the evidence is insufficient to determine liability. Examples of this type of legal outcome include: (1) when a principal is sued for breach of contract, but the other party is not pursued; (2) when a principal is sued for negligence, but the responsible party is not identified or named; and (3) when a principal is sued for copyright infringement, but the responsible party is not pursued.
