18 U.S.C. Sec. 1466A(A)(2) makes it a federal crime to produce, distribute, receive, or possess with intent to distribute any obscene visual representation of sexual abuse of children. This includes any visual image or video created by any means, including drawings, cartoons, sculptures, paintings, photographs, film, digital or computer-generated images, or any other image that depicts a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct. The penalties for this crime may include a fine, imprisonment, or both. There are four distinct types of 18 U.S.C. Sec. 1466A(A)(2) offenses, depending on the action taken: producing, distributing, receiving, or possessing with intent to distribute obscene visual representations of sexual abuse of children.
