A Waiver of the Service of Summons is a legal document in which a defendant agrees to accept service of process without being formally served with legal papers. It is usually signed by the defendant, or their attorney, and filed with the court. The waiver indicates that the defendant has been informed of the lawsuit and has agreed to participate in the legal proceedings. There are two types of Waiver of Service of Summons: an Unconditional Waiver and a Conditional Waiver. An Unconditional Waiver is a waiver in which the defendant agrees to accept service of process without any conditions. A Conditional Waiver is a waiver in which the defendant agrees to accept service of process if certain conditions are met.
