The Tennessee Affidavit of Claim of Exemptions is a document used to claim exemptions from the Tennessee Department of Revenue for certain types of taxes. These exemptions are typically related to the sale of goods and services, and can include exemptions from sales and use tax, franchise and excise tax, and other taxes. The affidavit must be completed and signed by the taxpayer and submitted to the Department of Revenue. There are two types of Tennessee Affidavit of Claim of Exemptions: the Standard Exemption Affidavit and the Manufacturer/Producer Exemption Affidavit. The Standard Exemption Affidavit is used to claim exemptions for the sale of goods and services, while the Manufacturer/Producer Exemption Affidavit is used to claim exemptions for the manufacture or production of goods. Both affidavits must be completed in full and signed by the taxpayer in order to be valid.
