A Tennessee Subpoena in a criminal case (AO-89) is a legal process issued by a court ordering a person or organization to appear in court or provide documents related to a criminal case. This process is also known as a criminal subpoena. There are two types of Tennessee Subpoena in a Criminal Case (AO-89): a subpoena duces tecum, which orders a person or organization to produce documents or other tangible items; and a subpoena ad testificandum, which orders a person to appear in court and testify. Both types of subpoenas are binding legal documents, and failure to comply with them can result in fines, jail time, or other penalties.
