The AO-88A Subpoena is used by attorneys or parties in a civil action to compel persons with knowledge related to the case to provide testimony or documents relevant to the proceedings. A Tennessee AO-88A Subpoena may be issued to an individual or a business entity. The Tennessee AO-88A Subpoena is issued to the person being subpoenaed and must include the case style, the court in which the case is pending, the date, time, and place of the deposition or document production, and the name and address of the attorney or party issuing the subpoena. There are two types of Tennessee AO-88A Subpoenas: a Subpoena to Testify at a Deposition and a Subpoena to Produce Documents. The Subpoena to Testify at a Deposition requires the person to appear to give testimony at a deposition. The Subpoena to Produce Documents requires a person to produce documents for inspection or to bring documents to the deposition.
