The South Carolina Forensic Juvenile Blair Order — Not Competent, but Likely is a court order issued by a judge in South Carolina that allows for a juvenile defendant to be found not competent to stand trial, but likely to gain competency in the future. This order is only used in juvenile cases and allows for an alternative process for juvenile defendants who are facing criminal charges. There are three types of South Carolina Forensic Juvenile Blair Order — Not Competent, but Likely: 1) the Juvenile Forensic Psychological Evaluation; 2) the Juvenile Forensic Psychiatric Evaluation; and 3) the Juvenile Forensic Psychosocial Evaluation. Each type of evaluation focuses on different aspects of the juvenile's mental health in order to determine whether the juvenile is competent to stand trial, as well as if they are likely to become competent in the future.
