A South Carolina Certificate of Cancellation is a document issued by the South Carolina Secretary of State's office that officially terminates a business entity’s existence in the state. This certificate is used to cancel a business entity’s registration with the state, and it may be used to dissolve a corporation, LLC, LL LP, Limited Partnership, Nonprofit Corporation, and Business Trust. The Certificate of Cancellation must be filed with the South Carolina Secretary of State to officially terminate the business entity. The filing of this certificate will also remove the business entity from the state’s list of active business entities.
