South Carolina CARRYING A WEAPON ON AN AIRCRAFT is strictly prohibited by both state and federal law. South Carolina defines a weapon as any device capable of causing death or serious injury, as well as any device that is designed to be used as a weapon. These include firearms, explosives, knives, and other items. Carrying a weapon on an aircraft in South Carolina is a felony offense and can result in a fine of up to $10,000 and/or up to 10 years in prison. There are three different types of offense for South Carolina CARRYING A WEAPON ON AN AIRCRAFT: 1) Carrying a Concealed Weapon, 2) Possession of an Unlawful Weapon, and 3) Possession of a Weapon by a Prohibited Person. All three offenses carry the same penalties.
