The Oregon Certificate of Document Preparation is a credentialing program offered by the Oregon State Bar (OSB) that recognizes individuals who have completed a training program to become certified document preparers. This certification is available to individuals who have passed the Oregon State Bar Document Preparation Examination. It is the only program in Oregon that provides certification for document preparation and is recognized as the standard of excellence for document preparation in the state. The Oregon Certificate of Document Preparation has three levels of certification: Basic, Advanced, and Supreme. To obtain the Basic level of certification, an individual must complete the Oregon State Bar Document Preparation Examination and must demonstrate knowledge of document preparation techniques and the laws of Oregon. To obtain the Advanced level of certification, an individual must successfully complete the Oregon State Bar Document Preparation Examination and must complete a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education in document preparation related topics. To obtain the Supreme level of certification, an individual must successfully complete the Oregon State Bar Document Preparation Examination and must complete a minimum of 80 hours of continuing education in document preparation related topics. The Oregon Certificate of Document Preparation is an important credential for individuals who work in the legal field and provides a benchmark for document preparation excellence in the state of Oregon.
