Oklahoma Joiner of Appellants is a legal procedure that allows multiple parties to join as appellants in an appeal to the Oklahoma Supreme Court. In Oklahoma, two or more parties may join in a single appeal if the parties have a common interest in the appeal and the court finds that the joiner is necessary for the determination of the issues on appeal. The two types of Oklahoma Joiner of Appellants are Mandatory Joiner and Permissive Joiner. Mandatory Joiner is required by Oklahoma Supreme Court Rule 1.4, and requires that all parties who have an interest in the outcome of the case must join as appellants. Permissive Joiner allows for parties to join the appeal if they have a common interest in the issues in the appeal, even if they are not required to by law. The court can deny a request for permissive joiner if it determines that it is not necessary for the determination of the issues on appeal.
