The Ohio Election To Withdraw From Claims Reimbursement Fund is a state fund that allows Ohio political campaigns and other political organizations to request reimbursement for election-related expenses. The Fund is managed by the Ohio Secretary of State’s office, and is funded by the state’s general revenue. There are three main types of claims that can be made to the Fund: (1) Reimbursement for Expenses — for expenses related to filing, running for, and campaigning for office; (2) Preselection Reimbursement — for expenses related to the preparation and submission of nomination papers and petitions; and (3) Post-Election Reimbursement — for expenses related to the conduct of an election, such as legal fees and the cost of printing ballots. In order to receive reimbursement, the claimant must submit all relevant documentation to the Secretary of State’s office. Once the claim is approved, the Secretary of State’s office will issue a check to the claimant for the amount of the approved claim.
