A Nevada Abstract of Judgment is a legal document that is filed with the County Recorder's Office to record a judgment against a person or business in the state of Nevada. It is a document of public record that serves as a lien against the debtor’s real and/or personal property. The lien remains in effect until the judgment is paid in full, released, or satisfied. There are two types of Nevada Abstracts of Judgment: personal property and real estate. A personal property Abstract of Judgment is recorded against the debtor’s tangible or intangible property, such as wages, bank accounts, and other assets. A real estate Abstract of Judgment is recorded against the debtor’s real estate, such as a house or land. Both types of Abstracts of Judgment are recorded with the County Recorder’s Office in the county in which the judgment was rendered.
