Nevada Summons is a document that provides notification to a defendant of a pending civil lawsuit. It is issued by the court in the state of Nevada and must be served to the defendant in order for the lawsuit to proceed. There are three types of Nevada Summons: Summons in a Civil Action, Summons and Complaint, and Summons and Notice. Summons in a Civil Action is issued by the court when a complaint has been filed and the defendant must appear in court to answer the complaint. Summons and Complaint is issued when a plaintiff has filed a complaint against the defendant and the defendant must respond to the complaint in writing. Summons and Notice is issued when the plaintiff has filed a motion that requires the defendant to appear in court to respond. All Nevada Summons must be served upon the defendant in order to proceed with the lawsuit.
