The New Jersey Notice of Motion Packet is a set of documents and forms used in the state of New Jersey to initiate a motion in court. It includes a Notice of Motion form, Order to Show Cause form, and Memorandum of Law form. The Notice of Motion form is used to alert all the parties involved in the case of the motion being made, while the Order to Show Cause form is used to ask a party to appear in court to explain why the motion should not be granted. The Memorandum of Law form is used to provide legal argument and facts to support the motion. There are two types of New Jersey Notice of Motion Packets: Civil and Criminal.
