New Jersey IFSA — Notice of Determination of Controlling Order is a notice issued by an issuing state that informs another state that the former has issued a child support order that will be controlling over any previous orders issued by the latter. This ensures that the issuing state’s order is enforced by the responding state. There are two types of New Jersey IFSA — Notice of Determination of Controlling Order: 1) Original Order and 2) Modification of an Existing Order. An Original Order is issued when a new child support order is issued by the issuing state while a Modification Order is issued when an existing order is modified. In both cases, the Notice of Determination of Controlling Order informs the responding state of the order that will be controlling.
