The New Hampshire Application for Second Injury Fund is a program that provides financial assistance to employers and employees who are impacted by an employee's disability or medical condition that is caused or aggravated by a work-related injury or illness. The program is designed to help companies offset the cost of medical treatments and lost wages associated with a work-related injury or illness. The program is administered by the New Hampshire Department of Labor (IDOL). There are three types of New Hampshire Application for Second Injury Fund: the Occupational Injury Fund, the Medical Expense Fund, and the Lost Wages Fund. The Occupational Injury Fund pays for medical costs incurred due to a work-related injury or illness. The Medical Expense Fund pays for medical treatment and/or rehabilitation costs that are not covered by other sources. The Lost Wages Fund pays for lost wages up to a specific maximum amount. In order to be eligible for the New Hampshire Application for Second Injury Fund, the employee must have suffered an occupational injury or illness that has resulted in wage loss and/or medical expenses. The employee must also have been employed by the same employer for at least 12 months prior to the injury or illness. Additionally, the employer must have a valid New Hampshire Second Injury Fund certificate issued by the IDOL.
