Mississippi Case Management Orders (CMOS) are court orders that are issued to help guide and manage the progress of civil cases in the courts of Mississippi. CMOS are issued by the court to ensure that parties are adhering to the deadlines and procedures set out by the court. There are three main types of Mississippi CMOS: initial CMOS, status CMOS, and final CMOS. Initial CMOS are issued at the start of a case and outline the schedules and timelines for filing pleadings, discovery and trial. Status CMOS are issued periodically throughout a case and are used to monitor the progress of the case and set new deadlines. Final CMOS are issued when a case is ready for trial. They provide the final instructions for trial preparation and provide the court with the information necessary to render a decision.
