This notice is sent to inform the estate of its responsibility to reimburse the state of Missouri for Medicaid funds paid for the individual's care. The Missouri Health net Estate Notice provides information on the amount that must be repaid, how to go about reimbursement, and the deadlines for repayment. There are two types of Missouri Health net Estate Notices: the Inheritance Recovery Estate Notice and the Estate Recovery Estate Notice. The Inheritance Recovery Estate Notice is used when the deceased individual has an estate that is subject to probate, or when the estate is being settled through an alternative process. The Estate Recovery Estate Notice is used for all other estates, such as when there is no will or when the estate is being settled informally.
