Missouri Designation of Resident Agent is a document that is used to designate a party or entity to act as the statutory agent for service of process for a Missouri LLC or Corporation. This document must be filed with the Missouri Secretary of State and is required to be kept up-to-date in order to remain in good standing with the state. There are two types of Missouri Designation of Resident Agent: Commercial and Non-Commercial. A Commercial Designation of Resident Agent is used when the party or entity designated as the statutory agent is a professional service such as an attorney or registered agent. A Non-Commercial Designation of Resident Agent is used when the party or entity designated as the statutory agent is an individual, such as a business owner or an employee.
