The Michigan Addendum To Petition For Personal Protection Order Against A Minor (Domestic) is a legal document used to protect a minor from physical, emotional, or sexual abuse from a family member or someone living in the same household. The addendum is used in addition to the existing Petition for Personal Protection Order, and can be used to add additional orders or restrictions to the already existing order. There are two types of Michigan Addendum To Petition For Personal Protection Order Against A Minor (Domestic): 1) Domestic Minor Protection Order (DMP), and 2) Ex Parte Domestic Minor Protection Order (EDM PO). The DMP is a more permanent order and is usually granted after a hearing with both parties present. The EDM PO is a temporary order and is typically granted without a hearing. Both types of orders may include orders staying away from the minor, prohibiting contact in any form, and may also include orders surrendering firearms or other weapons.
