Louisiana Tutor's Bond is a type of surety bond, required by the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, that guarantees the faithful performance of a tutor's obligations in accordance with the terms of their contract. The bond also provides protection to the students or their parents in the event of negligence, dishonesty, or malfeasance on the part of the tutor. There are two types of Louisiana Tutor's Bond: Single Tutor Bond and Group Tutor Bond. The Single Tutor Bond is for an individual tutor, in which the bond amount must be at least $1,000 and the Group Tutor Bond is for a tutoring business that employs multiple tutors. The Group Tutor Bond must have a minimum bond amount of $5,000.
