Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is the payment made by Government to assist families with the costs of child care.Families are required to make a co-contribution to their child care fees and pay the service the difference between the fee charged and the subsidy amount.

The licensee must be 18 years of age, have an understanding of children, complete certified first aid and CPR as well as child care related training. or volunteering in the licensed day care home. State Licensing fee $87.00. Local fees may also apply.

About DCF Child Care Training The cost to attend DCF Child Care Training ranges from Under $10 to $220 depending on the qualification, with a median cost of $100.

Currently the Government provides two payments to families to help with childcare costs: the means-tested Child Care Benefit and the Child Care Rebate, which is not means-tested. The two payments will be replaced with one means-tested payment called the Child Care Subsidy.

How does the Child Care Subsidy work? The Child Care Subsidy will be paid directly to providers to be passed on to families as a fee reduction. Families will make a co-contribution to their child care fees and pay to the provider the difference between the fee charged and the subsidised amount.

5% of your weekly Child Care Subsidy entitlement will be withheld. E.g. If your Subsidy percentage is 85%, 5% of the 85% is withheld. The actual subsidy that would be covered would be 80.75%.Total fees charged before the subsidy per fortnight is $500.00.
