The Indiana Report of Application and/or Order Authorizing Interception of Communications (Federal) is a document issued by a federal court that authorizes the interception of communications by law enforcement agencies in the state of Indiana. The document details the scope of the surveillance, the person or persons being targeted, and the period of time the surveillance will be conducted. It is generally issued in the context of criminal investigations. There are two types of federal orders authorizing interception of communications in Indiana: Title III orders and Pen Register/Trap and Trace orders. A Title III order allows for the interception of any wire, oral, and electronic communications, while a Pen Register/Trap and Trace order allows for the interception of dialing, routing, addressing, and signaling information transmitted by an instrument or facility from which a wire or electronic communication is transmitted.
