Acknowledgment of Service / Waiver of Jurisdiction: This form is used by the Respondent to acknowledge receipt of the Petition and to waive any and all further notice, service, and issuance of process. This form is also used by the Respondent to waive his or her right to jurisdiction in the state of his or her residence and to consent to venue and personal jurisdiction in the State of Georgia.
Georgia Acknowledgment of Service and Waiver of Jurisdiction is an agreement between two parties in a court case in the state of Georgia. Generally, it is used when one party is out of state and waives their right to be served personally by a process server. By signing the agreement, they acknowledge that they have been served with the legal documents and waive any objections to the jurisdiction of the court. There are two main types of Georgia Acknowledgment of Service and Waiver of Jurisdiction: Acknowledgment of Service and Waiver of Jurisdiction by Mail Form and Acknowledgment of Service and Waiver of Jurisdiction by Attorneys Form. The former is used when a process server mails the documents to the out-of-state party, and the latter is used when an attorney from out of state mails the documents on behalf of the out-of-state party. In both cases, the out-of-state party must sign and return the agreement in order to acknowledge service of the documents and waive their right to object to the court's jurisdiction.
