California Acknowledgment is a legal document required for real estate transactions in the state of California. It is used to confirm that the (signer) of a document is the person they claim to be and that they have willingly signed the document. The document typically includes the signer’s full name, address, and a statement affirming that the signature is their own and that they understand the contents of the document they are signing. There are three different types of California Acknowledgment: a Notary Acknowledgment, a Surat Acknowledgment, and an Acknowledgment of Real Property. A Notary Acknowledgment is used when the (signer) of a document is present before a Notary Public and is used for documents such as deeds, mortgages, and powers of attorney. A Surat Acknowledgment is similar to a Notary Acknowledgment but does not require the signer to be present before a Notary Public. Finally, an Acknowledgment of Real Property is used to confirm the transfer of real estate or property.
