California Statement of Partnership Authority Conversion is a process which enables a general partnership to become a limited liability company (LLC). This conversion is allowed under California law, which states that a general partnership can become an LLC by filing a Statement of Partnership Authority Conversion with the California Secretary of State. This document must include the name, address, and purpose of the LLC, the names and addresses of the LLC's members, and the names and addresses of the LLC's initial managers. There are two different types of California Statement of Partnership Authority Conversion: conversion of an existing general partnership to an LLC, and conversion of a foreign general partnership to an LLC in California.
