The CRIB program provides an independent review of the bill to determine if the charges are appropriate and reasonable. If the charges are found to be inappropriate, the CRIB program can assist in resolving the dispute between the consumer and the health plan. There are two types of CRIB reviews: Pre-Service and Post-Service. Pre-Service reviews are used when a consumer has received a bill from their health plan prior to receiving services. Post-Service reviews are used when a consumer has received a bill from their health plan after receiving services.
