An Arizona Arrest Warrant is a document issued by a court or magistrate that authorizes law enforcement to arrest an individual. Depending on the situation, there are two types of Arizona Arrest Warrants: an Arrest Warrant based on Probable Cause and an Arrest Warrant based on a Grand Jury Indictment. An Arrest Warrant based on Probable Cause is issued when a law enforcement officer has reasonable grounds to believe that a person has committed a crime. A Grand Jury Indictment Arrest Warrant is issued when a Grand Jury has found that enough evidence exists to indict the person on criminal charges. In both cases, a judge must review the evidence and sign the arrest warrant before it is executed.
