Alaska Order Amending Deferred Institutional Placement (OAD IP) is a legal document issued by the State of Alaska that allows the state to change the placement of a child who has been placed in an institutional or out-of-home care setting. The document is used to modify the terms of a child’s placement, including the type of setting, the duration of the placement, and the services and supports that will be provided. There are two types of Alaska Order Amending Deferred Institutional Placement: Full OAD IP and Partial OAD IP. Full OAD IP is used when the state is seeking to alter the placement and all associated terms in a single document. Partial OAD IP is used when the state is seeking to make only minor changes to the placement and associated terms. Both types of Ladies require approval by a judge following a hearing that includes the child’s parents or guardians, the child’s attorney, and other relevant parties. The judge may grant or deny the OAD IP based on the best interests of the child.
