Alaska Return of Service (ARMS) is a program that allows Alaska residents to receive free or discounted medical, dental, and vision care. ARMS is offered by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services and is designed to help low-income individuals and families in Alaska access quality medical care. There are four types of ARMS: Medicaid, Denali Kidnap, Alaska Native Health Program, and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Medicaid is a state-run program that provides health coverage to individuals and families with limited income. Denali Kidnap is a program for children from birth to age 18 who are not eligible for Medicaid or CHIP. The Alaska Native Health Program provides health coverage to Alaska Native and American Indian people who are not eligible for Medicaid or CHIP. Finally, CHIP is a program for children who are not eligible for Medicaid but whose family income is too high to qualify for Denali Kidnap.
