A Maryland Petition for Contempt — Denial of Visitation is a legal document filed in the Circuit Court of Maryland when one parent or guardian of a minor child has denied the other parent or guardian their court-ordered visitation rights. The Petition for Contempt asks the court to find the denying parent in contempt of court and to order them to comply with the visitation order. There are two types of Maryland Petition for Contempt — Denial of Visitation: Contempt of Court and Civil Contempt. Contempt of Court is when the court finds that a party has purposely and willfully disobeyed a court order.
