Generally, professional services are not taxable in Pennsylvania. However, editing services are taxable. Editing is defined by the state as “services performed upon written material, film, videos and audio tape, including altering, adapting, refining, proofreading or confirming.
The performance of building repair services on buildings or other property which is permanently affixed to realty are not taxable.
Major items exempt from the tax include food (not ready-to-eat); candy and gum; most clothing; textbooks; computer services; pharmaceutical drugs; sales for resale; and residential heating fuels such as oil, electricity, gas, coal and firewood.
PA Sales and Use Tax Code Section 31.11 Definitions. Pennsylvania sales tax does not apply to construction activities that are made under contract and involve the permanent attachment of tangible personal property to realty.
Photocopies of your Form(s) W-2 (be sure the information is legible), or your actual Form(s) W-2. Include a statement to list and total your other taxable compensation. You must submit photocopies of your Form(s) 1099-R, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, and other statements that show other compensation and any PA tax withheld.
