A bill of sale is used when purchasing any type of vehicle. This includes RVs, boats, ATVs, motorcycles, trailers, and snowmobiles.
Transferring ownership: When you become the owner of the vehicle, you'll need proof of valid car ownership in Ontario. Registering a vehicle: When you register a vehicle in Ontario, you'll need to have a bill of sale from the buyer.
Transfer of ownership is completed on the vehicle registration card, or by a written bill of sale which include a complete vehicle description (year, make, model, and vehicle identification number), purchaser's name, and date of sale. All owners (sellers) and buyers must sign the bill of sale.
Non-motorized vs. Travel trailers are one of the most popular trailer makes in Ontario and, by-law, do not require insurance. However, it's important to note that if you have an RV which can be driven or is “motorized” then it's a legal requirement that you carry insurance.
An Illinois Trailer Bill of Sale is a legal document that records the release and acquisition of ownership for a trailer. In Illinois, almost any vehicle that can be driven or towed must be titled and registered. This includes private-use trailers that carry boats, farming equipment or animals, or other cargo.
All vehicles required to be registered are subject to titling. Manufactured homes and park trailers are required to be titled. Utility trailers with a gross vehicle weight of 3,000 pounds or less that do not have a lien do not have to be titled.
To register a large trailer over 4,000 pounds, such as a semitrailer or travel trailer, you can use the title to prove the transfer of ownership. If you buy a small non-titled trailer, you need official documentation, such as a Minnesota trailer bill of sale, to prove that you own the vehicle.
Minnesota Trailer Laws A trailer or semitrailer with a gross weight of 6,000 lbs. or more, must be equipped with brakes that are constructed so that they can hold the trailer or semitrailer if it becomes detached from the towing vehicle. Trailers are allowed up to 45 feet maximum length.
Law enforcement misconduct: Trailer bill removes the provision that said an officer commits misconduct if the officer fails to comply with provisions of the body-worn camera statute or department policy requiring the use of BWC.
