FAQ

Can I still request roommates? If you have both been offered to the same building and room type, then you can mutually request one another on the housing application, and we should be able to assign you to the same room in August.

Roommates should be in the same class standing category (sophomores with sophomores, juniors/seniors with other upperclassmen and graduate students with other grads) and of the same gender. When selecting an assignment, who can I pull in to be a roommate? You can only pull in (assign) accepted roommates (see above).

If you do not have a specific person in mind, you can conduct an online search for potential roommates and be presented with possible matches based on the information provided in your Profile. You will be able to contact potential roommates and update your application to request them.

Incoming first-years do not choose their roommates. Instead, you fill out a very detailed survey, which asks students questions such as when do you sleep, what time do you wake up, how clean are you, what music do you listen to, and so on.

Because of these institutional commitments, a student is required to reside on-campus and is encouraged to become an active participant in campus life. Residential Life will review off-campus petitions and make the final decision regarding off-campus status.
