To determine your trash can's size, measure its height and diameter (for round cans) or width and depth (for square or rectangular cans). Here's how to do it: Height: Measure from the base to the top with the lid closed. Diameter or Width and Depth: For round cans, measure across the top to find the diameter.

Empty paint cans are recyclable and shouldn't be thrown in the garbage. Please separate lid from can, and put both into your recycling bin. Paint cans still containing paint will need to be disposed of correctly. Filled cans or partially filled cans will not be recycled because they are potentially hazardous.
You can dispose of old paint cans of latex paint in your regular trash. Oil-based paints should go to a household hazardous waste collection site.
