SAN JOSE, Calif. (January 14, 2025) - After a nationwide recruitment, City Manager Jennifer Maguire has appointed, and the San José City Council has confirmed, Aram Kouyoumdjian as San José's new Director of the Human Resources (HR) Department and the City Manager's Office of Employee Relations (OER).
The aim of the city's “revolving door” policy is to avoid personal gain or an unfair advantage when it comes to deal making. Exemptions to the rule, like the one requested by Hughes, must be approved by the San Jose City Council. At least three exemptions have been granted since 2019.
