Kindly note that normal processing time for a new OCI application (based on Indian origin) is 5-6 weeks from the date of registration of the application in the Consulate whereas for re-issuance/updation of OCI Cards, it is 6-7 weeks. Reissuance of OCI is NOT required; Only new passport details and new photo has to be updated/uploaded on the OCI Portal each time a new passport is issued. Re-issuance of OCI card is required once on acquiring a new passport.
