The processing time for a travel permit (Advance Parole) currently averages 5-24 months, depending on the service center processing your application. USCIS provides a database where you can check the most current processing times, updated once per month.
All U.S. citizens need U.S. passport books if re-entering by air. Land and sea border crossings accept additional travel documents, such as U.S. Passport cards and Trusted Traveler cards. Child travelers have additional options - see the Traveling with Children section.
It is commonly used for re-entry by people in the process of applying for permanent residence, applying for a status adjustment, or applying for asylum. Refugee travel document - You may be able to use this document to re-enter the U.S. if you have refugee or asylum status.

The US Embassy in the UK's website specifically excludes even British non-citizen nationals (BOTCs, BOCs, BNOs, British subjects and BPPs) with British passports from applying for ESTA. So a Refugee Travel Document issued by the UK will also likely not count.
If you are in the United States and have a pressing or critical need to travel outside the United States in less than 15 days, USCIS may issue an emergency travel document. USCIS may issue an emergency travel document for an: Advance parole document; or. TPS travel authorization document.

Planning Your Trip The travel document usually arrives within 150 days (sometimes longer) after submitting your application. You can't leave the country until you have your approved travel document in hand, so you should expect to spend the 3–5 months after submitting your green card application in the United States.
