Interrogatories serve several purposes, including obtaining information regarding a defendant's insurance coverage, obtaining information to be used in amending a pleading, identifying witnesses, establishing important dates, and verifying known facts. Interrogatories can be more thorough than depositions.
Interrogatories in Aid of Execution are up to fifteen (15) written questions to the debtor about their assets and income. The debtor is required to answer these questions under oath. You may serve interrogatories on the debtor through first-class mail.
Keep in mind that the answers must be made in writing under oath and signed by the party that is answering. See Md. Rule 2-421(b). You must answer the interrogatories as much as you can. If you object to any interrogatory, you should state the reasons for your objection in the answer to the interrogatory.
