You can use Proof of Service by First Class Mail (form POS-030). It helps if you fill in the top part of the form with the case and court information. Your server can then fill in the information about how, when, and where they served the papers. Your server must then sign the form.
Parties usually send their discovery requests and responses to the other party electronically, by email. But, parties may also send or respond to discovery requests by U.S. mail or a parcel service. Timeframe for discovery If you are the plaintiff, you can begin discovery 10 days after you serve the first papers in the case or anytime after the defendant files a response. If you are the defendant, you may begin discovery as soon as the case is filed.
Steps Of The Discovery Process. There are four key actions in the discovery process which include interrogatories, request for documents, request for admissions, and depositions.
Interrogatories may, without leave of court, be served upon the plaintiff after filing of the complaint and upon any other party with or after service of the summons and complaint upon that party.

If you are unable to answer a specific question because you don't know or don't have access to the appropriate information, you must indicate the reasons. You may refer to a previous response when responding to an interrogatory providing the previous response sufficiently answers the later interrogatory.
Interrogatories are lists of questions sent to the other party that s/he must respond to in writing. You can use interrogatories to find out facts about a case but they cannot be used for questions that draw a legal conclusion.
