General Information. Personal property tax relief is provided for any passenger car, motorcycle, or pickup or panel truck having a registered gross weight with DMV of 10,000 pounds or less on January 1. Qualifying vehicles must be owned or leased by an individual and be used 50% or less for business purposes.
Certain qualified individuals are eligible for real estate tax relief or tax exemptions, including the elderly and disabled, emergency services providers, surviving spouses, and veterans.
Only one vehicle per household shall be granted tax relief. The applicant must be at least 65 years of age or permanently and totally disabled. The applicant must provide proof of age (such as a copy of a valid driver's license or birth certificate) or certificate of disability if the applicant is under 65.
