Inmates may receive letters via US mail. The amount of letters an inmate can receive is not restricted; however, no packages or boxes will be accepted. Letters MUST have the inmate's name and the sender's name with the return address. All mail received will be opened and inspected by jail staff.
To defer, you must first complete the Enrollment Reply Form and submit your deposit. Then, reach out to your admissions counselor and ask for a Deferral Request Form. Admissions reviews these requests every week and will let you know if your gap time has been approved.
Accepted Mail Requirements: All mail must have a return address. ONLY white envelopes and white paper are allowed. ONLY blue ink, black ink, or pencil to be used. Envelopes must be no larger than 4 in. x 9 ½ in. Letters must be on paper that is no larger than 8-1/2 in. x 11 in. Photographs must be 4 in x6 in.
Offender Personal Clothing/Food Packages can be ordered using the Package Program at SecurePak. If NDOC offers the item through Canteen or the AccessSecurePak program, outside items are prohibited to be mailed to the offender.
