Businesses that cater events at unlicensed locations need a Caterer's Alcohol Permit to serve alcoholic beverages. This permit is for a specific event. It is issued by the New York State Liquor Authority (SLA). Food must be served at the catered event.
Cars, NYC Taxis, and other private and for-hire vehicles are not allowed in Prospect Park without authorization. You may still see cars or other motor vehicles in the park from time to time, including those from NYC Parks, Prospect Park Alliance and NYPD. These vehicles help keep Prospect Park clean and safe.
Permits are not issued in certain areas of the park on weekends from May 1 to September 30. Permits are not issued for the following picnic areas at any time, and are intended for groups of 20 people or fewer: Wellhouse Drive; Vanderbilt Oval; Parkside Lawn; Lincoln Road Lawn and the Nethermead.
