VisaScreen®: Visa Credentials Assessment Service is a comprehensive screening service for healthcare professionals seeking an occupational visa to work in the United States. Applicants who successfully complete VisaScreen® receive an official ICHP Certificate that satisfies U.S. federal screening requirements.
This screening process is required to be completed before a foreign national healthcare worker can receive either a permanent or temporary employment visa, including Trade NAFTA status.
We recommend calling CGFNS often to check up on the Visa Screen process. CGFNS often takes 4-6 months to review Visa Screen applications, so expediting is usually worth it (a few hundred dollars).
The entire VisaScreen process, from initial application to certificate issuance, can take anywhere from 6 months to over a year. So, plan ingly and start the process well before moving to the US.
VisaScreens are valid for five years from the issue date. All foreign nationals requiring a VisaScreen for their work in the United States. must have a valid VisaScreen every time they enter the United States. The VisaScreen itself is not a work authorization document.
Once the applicant has successfully completed all elements of the VisaScreen® program, the applicant is awarded a VisaScreen Certificate, which can be presented to a consular office, or in the case of adjustment of status, the attorney general as part of a visa application.
Visa Certification gives you a benchmark for your professional development and allows you the opportunity to develop a competitive skill set and demonstrate value to hiring organizations. It also helps organizations identify skilled professionals as they look to add talent to their organizations.
