San Diego County Superior Court Rule 2.1. 15 states, "A trial readiness conference generally will be scheduled for four weeks before the trial date." The trial readiness conference is an opportunity for the parties to attempt to resolve the case, or at least limit the issues for trial.
Dress Code Acceptable court attire is business or business casual dress (jeans are allowed). No shorts, tank tops, crop tops or bare feet are permitted. If the judicial officer finds your clothing inappropriate you could be ordered to go home to change or to return to court on another day.

The grand jury is a body of 19 citizens who are charged and sworn to investigate county matters of civil concern as well as inquire into public offenses. One of the first questions all 60 of us were asked was if we had a reason we could not serve for a trial that would likely last 3-5 days.
