311 takes great strides to protect the identities of our customers. If an open records request is received by 311 under the Texas Public Information Act, trained staff will take all effort to withold your information, including going to the Texas Attorney General for a ruling on your behalf citing Informer's Privilege.
Collection guidelines The Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) handles dead animals located on farm-to-market, ranch-to-market, state, U.S. and interstate highways. If the dead animal is on one of those roadways, please contact TXDOT directly at (512) 974-0883 or submit a request.
The 311 Call Center operates 24/7 and is staffed by Customer Service Representatives who are trained to receive calls from residents, actively listen to their concerns and, based upon their situation, determine which service request(s) would best suit their needs.
Submit the Dead Animal Pickup - DAS service request and ensure that your pet is contained in a plastic bag. Place the bag on the curb near the area your garbage is placed for collection. Dallas Animal services will collect the pet during normal collection hours.
Using the City of Dallas 311 online form or OurDallas app, select the service request type Dead Animal Pickup to request the removal of dead animals. Place the deceased animal in a plastic bag (if possible) and relocate it to the front curb of your property for removal.
