Minor hardships or inconveniences to an employer are not legal reasons to be excused from jury service. However, you may request to be postponed to a more convenient time. If serving on jury duty will create an extreme financial hardship, visit the online Juror Portal to request an excuse.
Jurors are asked to dress appropriately for a courtroom. Business or casual dress is acceptable-jeans and t-shirts are okay. Jurors are warned that temperatures in courtrooms can vary widely (both cold and hot) and are encouraged to dress appropriately. SHORTS AND TANK TOPS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN COURTROOMS.
We suggest you wear comfortable clothing that fits with the importance and dignity of the courtroom. Shorts, tank tops, bare midriffs, or similar dress are not allowed. Business attire is always appropriate. Check your summons or local jury office for more information.
However you can use your cell phones in the jury assembly room. Prospective jurors will not need to provide social security or credit card numbers. For security, all visitors (including jurors) must go through a metal detector. Picture ID is required.

While jeans are acceptable for jury duty in most courtrooms avoid jeans with rips and tears since you will be sitting for a long time choose relaxed fit jeans with a bit of stretch for all day comfort just to be sure, check with your couthouse to continue that jeans are okay to wear.
